Well, the NY Times has decided to make the ongoing theme of their paper slavery. The project is called “1619.” That’s the year the first slaves were brought to “America.”
Well, I’ve got a news flash for the pin heads who run the Times. Slavery came to North America about 13,000 years ago when the first Asians crossed from Asia into today’s Alaska. The Injuns (Native Americans) enslaved other Injuns. And they didn’t need to learn it from the White man. And when White Europeans came to North American, Injuns enslaved them as the opportunity presented itself. In the antebellum South 10,000 Black slaves were owned by other Blacks. One of the most feared slave owners was a Black who was also a slave breeder. This was a practice frowned upon by most White slave owners.
Slavery was a part of life all over the world and still is today in some places. Asians owned slaves. Black Africans owned slaves. And, yes, Whites owned slaves. It is noteworthy, however, that the first to try to limit and then eliminate slavery were the Whites of England – the same people primarily responsible for creating the United States. And the descendants of those Brits fought a war to free the slaves at the cost of a half million mostly White citizens’ lives.
So all you nit wit liberals need to actually learn a bit from actual real history. Especially those of you who work for the Times.
