Funny, funny story. I was surfing the channels and came across a broadcast on WETA in DC of “Independent Lens: Birth of a Movement.” I saw most of the show, but not the beginning. It is the story of the galvanizing effect of the movie “Birth of a Nation” on the Civil Rights movement in the early years of the 20th century. What makes it funny or, perhaps I should say, laughable is that in the entire portion of the show that I saw the word “Democrat” or the phrase “Democratic Party” are never mentioned.
The KKK was the terrorist arm of the Democratic Party. The President who screened “Birth of a Nation” in the WH – Democrat Woodrow Wilson. The Mayor of Boston who would not help suppress showing the movie in that city – Democrat Mayor Curley. All the “Jim Crow” laws cited – passed by a Democrat legislature, signed by Democrat Governors and enforced by Democrat law officials. What makes the show doubly laughable is simply this. The show itself demonstrates how the leadership of the Civil Rights movement has prostituted itself to the Democratic Party. Too, too funny!
