A PRESIDENT MUST RESPECT THE COURT, RIGHT?

You may recall the recent uproar among the Democrats and the press over Trump’s criticism of U.S. District Judge James Robart, whom Trump described as a “so-called” judge. According to the Democrats and the press Trump had precipitated the end of democracy in America as we know it by criticizing another branch of gummamint. Apparently, the Democrats and the press are afflicted with selective moral indignation. They seem to have forgotten POTUS Obama’s 2010 State of the Union address live and in color and covered by all the TV networks. With members of SCOTUS sitting right in front of him, Obama condemned the Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission ruling, stating, “Last week, the Supreme Court reversed a century of law that I believe will open the floodgates for special interests – including foreign corporations – to spend without limit in our elections.” Justice Samuel Alito was seen frowning and mouthing the words “not true” when Obama criticized the Supreme Court.

Chief Justice John Roberts later commented on the subject at the University of Alabama, saying, “The image of having the members of one branch of government standing up, literally surrounding the Supreme Court, cheering and hollering while the court – according the requirements of protocol – has to sit there expressionless, I think is very troubling.”

Seems the alphabet networks must have had a large amount of news to process when Justice Roberts replied, because they could not find time to report Roberts’ comments. Of course, they found PLENTY of time to report the reaction of SCOTUS nominee Neil Gorsuch to the Trump/Robart dust up. Repeatedly. Constantly.

But remember, there is no bias in the media – except, of course, those wacky conservatives like Rush Limbaugh.
